Abstract

The increasing adoption of smart devices worldwide brings promises of enhanced living standards, but for marginalized communities, cost and accessibility remain significant barriers. Conventional home assistants are expensive, require constant internet connectivity, and are designed without consideration for low-income users in developing countries. This paper proposes a low-cost alternative to conventional home assistants that addresses these limitations. Our model supports voice commands in both English and Bangla and includes an application for offline system management. By developing this system with affordable hardware and local production, we contribute to bridging the digital divide and providing sustainable, inclusive technological solutions for underserved communities. This model will help marginalized communities and people with disabilities, making technology affordable, inclusive and accessible for everyone.
